MORENO VALLEY, Ca. – A suspect is under arrest for the attempted murder of a male subject in the City of Moreno Valley.
At around 2:15 a.m. on Friday, September 6, 2019, deputies responded to the 14000 block of Vinehill Street in Moreno Valley for the report of shots fired. When they arrived they learned that the victim was taken to the hospital by his friends. Through investigation they learned that the victim and the suspect were arguing when the suspect brandished a pistol and shot the victim in the abdomen. The suspect fled the area and hid in the 22000 block of Allies Place in Moreno Valley, police officials said.
The suspect identified as Juan Cardenas, 19, of Moreno Valley was identified, located, and taken into custody without further incident. The firearm used in the shooting was also located and taken as evidence. Cardenas was booked into jail for attempted murder. The victim remains hospitalized in stable condition.
