BAKER – Two men, one from Moreno Valley and the other from Las Vegas, Nevada were arrested for robbing Baker Market at gunpoint authorities said.
On Thursday, February 22, 2018, Trayvon Miller-Burris entered the Baker Market, 21, of Las Vegas, Nevada entered the store located at 70274 Baker Boulevard in Baker with a loaded .22 semi-automatic rifle. He demanded money from the cashier while Martin Williams, 20, of Moreno Valley, remained outside. Both male suspects fled the scene with a female driver and passenger inside a 200 Volkswagen SUV. A witness followed the suspect vehicle onto the I-15 and called dispatch reporting the whereabouts of the vehicle. The California Highway Patrol responded along with the Barstow Sheriff’s Station.
“The officers conducted a felony traffic stop and detained Miller, Williams and the two female passengers,” Sheriff’s officials said. “During the investigation, the officers discovered that Miller had put the rifle to the female driver’s head and forced her to drive the Volkswagen away from the scene.” Both the weapon used during the robbery and the money was located inside the vehicle. The male suspects both were transported to High Desert Detention Center both for Robbery and Conspiracy to Commit a Crime. Miller also faces kidnapping charges.
