VICTORVILLE – The mother of the 12-year-old girl killed in a Victorville shooting was arrested on Friday along with a second suspect for criminal threats against a family authorities said.
On Thursday, August 10, 2017, deputies responded to the report of criminal threats against several members of the family. The victim, Danielle Cummings, who has since been arrested in connection with the Wednesday night murder of Mikiya Walls, stated that she began receiving the calls on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, from 9:00 p.m. until 4:00 a.m. on August 10th. She told deputies that she knew the callers and identified them as Maesha Lundy, 35, of Victorville (the mother of Mikiya) and Christopher Hicks, 34, of Victorville.
Cummings provided deputes with the recorded calls and called 911 when Hicks arrived at her home on Dana Street in the City of Adelanto. The threats were believed to be credible and warrants were authored for both Lundy and Hicks. The two were located at a Victorville hotel on Friday, August 11 at 12:30 a.m, and were taken into custody without incident. Both Lundy and Hicks are being held in lieu of $50,000 bail, Lundy at the West Valley Detention Center and Hicks at the High Desert Detention Center.
