VICTORVILLE, Calif. – The mother and aunt of Duke Flores were in court Tuesday morning for their arraignment hearing.
Both women, Jackee Contreras and Jennifer Contreras, both 29 of Apple Valley, pleaded not guilty. The Contreras sisters were charged on Monday, April 29, 2019, with the murder of 6-year-old Duke Flores. At this time authorities are searching the Victorville landfill in an attempt to find Duke’s body. Authorities said that the search shifted to the dump after receiving information that the child, who was reported missing by family on Thursday night was placed in a dumpster.
The exact time he was last seen alive is unknown, but the child’s grandmother reported last seeing him around two weeks ago. Following their not guilty plea, both Jackee and Jennifer were appointed a public defender and are scheduled to appear in court on Friday, May 3, 2019.
