NORCO – An ongoing investigation into a December 2016 mail theft, including the theft of person checks in the 2200 block of Corona Avenue led to an arrest of a 33-year-old woman. Several of the stolen checks were forged and cashed at locations in various locations in the general area. In February, the investigation led to Megan Alice Schuchman of Norco being named as the suspect.
At 10:10 a.m. on Wednesday, Schuchman was located in the 4100 block of Main Street in the City of Riverside. She was found to be in possession of additional stolen, altered, and forged checks. Schuchman was arrested without incident and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for identity theft, possession of stolen property and possession of altered and forged checks.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department will be vigilant in investigating all crimes of this nature. This investigation is ongoing and we’re asking anyone with additional information to contact Deputy Darryl Robertson at the Norco Sheriff’s Office at 951-270-5673.
