UPDATE: (3:35 p.m.) The traffic collision which was initially reported as a hit-and-run, through further investigation has been determined to be only a single-vehicle collision.
” [The traffic collision] was originally reported as a hit and run; however, it is now believed that the driver of the Nissan lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons and did not come in contact with another vehicle,” updated Victorville Sheriff’s Station spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez.
VICTORVILLE -The driver of a mangled black sedan was transported to Victor Valley Global Medical Center in preparation to be airlifted to a trauma center for the treatment of head injuries after a collision on Wednesday.
Few details are known at this time regarding the cause of the collision on 7th Street and Forrest Avenue that remains under investigation. The Victorville Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez said that at this time they believe that a second vehicle fled the scene following the collision. Based on preliminary information the second vehicle was described as a black Infinity or Lexus.
Forrest Street is closed in both directions between 7th Street and 8th Street and 7th Street, between Yucca and Forrest are also closed in both directions for an unknown duration of time for the investigation.
