CORONA – Late Tuesday afternoon Corona police were searching the 1400 block of West Ontario Avenue for an outstanding grand theft auto suspect officials said. The suspect, who was described as a Hispanic man, fled in a northerly direction jumping fences in the neighborhood.
After searching for the suspect using ground, K-9 and aerial units the police were unable to locate him and eventually suspended the search. On Wednesday afternoon 35-year-old Armando Jay Rodriguez Jr. a Lake Elsinore resident turned himself in at the police department.
Rodriguez was booked into jail for grand theft auto, possession of stolen property, resisting/delaying arrest, and providing false name to police. Rodriguez has a fully extraditable felony warrant in the state of Washington for burglary and trafficking.
