PALMDALE – A parent’s worst nightmare came true for a Palmdale mother who came home after work to find the babysitter outside explaining that her 4-month-old son was not breathing. On March 22, 2016, baby Aiden Lopez, who was only 4-months-old was left in the care of 31-year-old Brittany Ann Ingrassi.
The mother of Aiden called 911 and he was transported to the hospital where he was found to have fractures to his skull and a traumatic brain injury. Days later, on March 26, 2016, Aiden died at the hospital. Authorities said that while watching baby Aiden, Ingrassi, who was not happy being a babysitter was under the influence of alcohol
On Tuesday, May 9, 2017, she was found guilty of one count each of second-degree murder, assault on a child causing the child to become comatose, child abuse, and assault on a child causing death. Ingrassi will be sentenced on June 2, 2017, at the Antelope Valley Superior Court and will face 25 years to life in prison.
