MUSCOY – A convicted sex offender is back behind bars after stabbing a male victim during an altercation Thursday night. The victim and the suspect, later identified as 42-year-old Luis Cantu got into a verbal dispute which led to Cantu stabbing the man with a knife.
At around 8:30 p.m. Central station deputies responded to the 2000 block of West Mesa Street in Muscoy. Upon arrival, they located the victim, who was suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Cantu who is currently on parole was booked into the West Valley Detention Center for assault with a deadly weapon and for the parole violation. He is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday afternoon.
