VICTORVILLE – A female pedestrian was airlifted to a trauma center after being struck by a vehicle on Seventh Street south of Circle Drive Monday night. At around 11:11 p.m. deputies from the Victorville Station and emergency medical personnel responded to the vehicle versus pedestrian collision.
When they arrived they located the involved gray Nissan Sentra stopped in the center median area of Seventh Street with front end damage and a 22-year-old woman lying on the roadway behind the vehicle. The woman was breathing, but not alert. She was transported in critical condition to Victor Valley Global Medical Center in preparation to be airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center.
The driver remained at the scene throughout the investigation. Through investigation, it was determined that the Nissan was driving south on Seventh Street when the woman was walking in the roadway. The front passenger side of the Nissan hit the woman as the driver attempted to avoid the collision.
All lanes, both north and southbound on Seventh Street between Victor and Lacy Street were closed until just after 3:30 a.m. so the San Bernardino County Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) could conduct the investigation.
Anyone with information about the collision can contact Deputies Brian LoVasco or Michael Cashion at the Hesperia and Apple Valley Stations or the WeTip hotline
