RIVERSIDE, Calif. – A pedestrian is in grave condition after being hit by a vehicle on Monday night.
Riverside Police officials said that at around 10:10 p.m. they responded to Van Buren Boulevard and Indiana Avenue for the report of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision. When they arrived they learned that a 20-year-old Riverside resident was driving a Ford Focus southbound on Van Buren Boulevard when the collision occurred. The pedestrian was in the crosswalk at the time, but crossing against a red light while the driver had a green light.
The pedestrian is suffering from life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash. Officers from the Riverside Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) were called to the scene and are currently investigating.
