VICTORVILLE, Calif. – A vehicle versus pedestrian collision took the life of a 39-year-old man in Victorville on Friday night.
At around 11:44 p.m. deputies and emergency medical personnel responded to the area of Luna and Amargosa Roads for the report of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision. Through investigation it was learned that the 2003 Ford Expedition was traveling southbound on Amargosa Road when he struck the White male adult who had stepped out in front of the vehicle.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. The name of the deceased man is not being released at this time. The driver and his two passengers were all uninjured as a result of the collision and cooperated with the investigation.
The Victorville City Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is continuing the investigation of the collision. Amargosa Road remained closed in both directions for several hours while investigators processed the scene for evidence and interviewed witnesses. Amargosa Road was reopened in both directions at approximately 5:55 A.M.
