PHELAN – A 34-year-old man was airlifted after being shot numerous times on Wednesday. At around 2:00 p.m. deputies from the Victor Valley station responded to the 10000 block of Relin Road in Phelan, for the report of a man yelling for help.
Responding deputies received information that Josiah Holloway had been shot multiple times by a neighbor. Holloway was rescued by friends and move out of the location while deputies responded. An air ambulance was requested, with a landing zone of Quail Valley Middle School. Holloway was airlifted to a trauma hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Through investigation, deputies learned that Halloway was shot at a nearby home. The Sheriff’s Specialized Enforcement Detail (SED) was called to the scene to assist. At around 5:50 p.m., before the arrival of SED, authorities were able to communicate with Godinez by cell phone. Godinez was taken into custody without further incident. Godinez was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for attempted murder and is being held in lieu of $1,000,000 bail.
