POMONA, Calif. – A 29-year-old woman was arrested Saturday for the domestic-related killing of her father earlier this year.
On January 25, 2019, the 58-year old Pomona man identified as Jaime Hernandez Guzman was found deceased inside his apartment. The January 2019 news release stated that at 3:16 a.m. screams were heard in the 200 block of West Grove Avenue. Soon after officers followed a blood trail that led to the apartment occupied by Guzman who was unresponsive. The man was found to be deceased at the scene as a result of a stab wound to his chest area.
During the investigation into the homicide, police learned that the man and his daughter were arguing earlier that day. The daughter, Gardenia Guzman grabbed a knife and stabbed her father. The information led to a warrant for the arrest, but authorities were unable to locate her.
On Saturday, May 4, 2019, Gardena Duzman was located and arrested, police said. The motive of the stabbing is unknown at this time.
