HESPERIA – The SR-138 will be closing for 14 days between the I-15 and Summit Valley Road. This closure will begin on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at 6:00 a.m. and ending April 4, 2017, at 6:00 a.m.
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) officials said that this is part of the $23 million SR-138 Realignment Project. Through this project, workers will be removing several curves and steep grades, which will reduce the three-mile stretch by one mile.
The road will remain two lanes, one in each direction. Caltrans officials said that the project also includes constructing outside shoulders, three bridges, and three wildlife crossings.
