HIGHLAND – A Redlands man was shot to death in Highland on Wednesday morning.
Just before 9:40 a.m. a 911 call was made reporting that a man was lying in the middle of the street near 6th Street west of Central Avenue. Deputies arrived to find 48-year-old Mario Anthony Figueroa unresponsive in the roadway suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Emergency medical aid responded, but were unable to revive Figueroa who was pronounced dead at the scene. Homicide investigators were requested to the scene to resume the investigation. The suspect and motive both remain unknown.
