REDLANDS – A Redlands woman is behind bars after stabbing a man who allegedly exposed his genitals to her on Tuesday, July 10, 2018.
The incident was initially reported as a random stabbing at around 12:30 p.m., in the 800 block of West Brockton Avenue in Redlands. The victim, a 28-year-old Redlands man, told authorities that he was stabbed multiple times in the back as he walked on West Brockton Avenue. After stabbing him, the woman fled south on New York Street.
Investigators obtained city surveillance footage as well as surveillance from several nearby businesses and were able to determine that the suspect was Cynthia Christine Molina, 51, of Redlands. Molina was arrested on Wednesday, July 11, 2018. Molina told police investigators that earlier on Tuesday at Jennie Davis Park on Redlands Boulevard and New York Street, the male victim exposed himself to her. He then left the park and walked north on New York Street then East on Brockton. Molina followed the man, got into a verbal dispute with the man, then stabbed him multiple times. The man suffered non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the stabbing and was treated at a local hospital and released.
Investigators are forwarding the report to the District Attorney’s Officer for possible Indecent Exposure charges against the male.
