VICTORVILLE – An attempted carjacking reported at around 11:14 a.m. on Thursday turned out to be lacking criminal intent once Victorville Station deputies responded.
The reporting party called 911 to report that she was in her vehicle in front of the 99 Cent Only Store located at 12480 Amargosa Road when a man ordered her out of her vehicle. In fear, she drove away, but as she did so, per scanner traffic, he ordered another woman to get out of her vehicle.
Deputies arrived at the location to take a report. “The reporting party stated she was in her car in the parking lot when a male approached her car, saying something about her headlights,” said Victorville Sheriff’s Station spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez. “ He knocked on her window but she was afraid to roll her window down because he began yelling at her.”
Rodriguez said that the man did not try to open or get into her car and no weapons were shown.
