FONTANA – A 45-year-old Rialto man was arrested for stealing a vehicle that was left in a Fontana parking with the ignition running, and with infant inside.
On Monday, September 11, 2017, at around 1:56 p.m. Fontana Police were dispatched to the Chipotle restaurant, located at 10515 Sierra Avenue in the City of Fontana. A woman drove up to the location and left her infant child inside with the vehicle running. The woman reported to authorities that a Black man jumped into her vehicle and fled westbound leaving the location, then southbound on Sierra against oncoming traffic. An Amber Alert went out alerting the public to the stolen 2013 silver Kia Optima and kidnapped child.
The Kia Optima was located abandoned in Norco. Christopher Tanpinu Agbaosi was located holding the child not far from the abandoned vehicle. The child was not injured, but was taken to the hospital as a precaution. “The Fontana Police Department would like to thank the media, the community and the neighboring police agencies who worked together diligently to locate child in a timely manner,” Fontana Police officials said in the news release.
