RIVERSIDE – The Riverside Police are investigating a suspicious death that was reported on Saturday morning, officials said. At around 8:18 a.m. dispatchers received a call reporting a possible suicide in the 1200 block of Massachusetts Avenue in the City of Riverside University neighborhood.
Upon arrival, officers located a woman in her late-50’s with a gunshot wound to her head inside the bedroom of the apartment home. Medics with the Riverside Fire Department responded to the scene and pronounced the woman dead. The name of the deceased woman will not be released at this time.
The death that is being classified as suspicious, is being investigated by detectives from the Robbery/Homicide Unit and Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner Department.
