RIVERSIDE – A Riverside man struck a woman with a plastic pipe several times during a dispute on Saturday afternoon officials said.
At around 12:42 p.m. officers from the Riverside Police Department responded to the Jack in the Box located near Blaine Street and Iowa Avenue regarding a possible assault. Officers learned that the suspect, identified as Byron Croford, 56, confronted the victim with the belief that she threw rocks at his vehicle the night before. The verbal altercation escalated when Croford grabbed a plastic pipe from his vehicle and struck the woman multiple times.
The victim sustained only minor injuries to her arms and her legs. She was treated at the scene by responding paramedics. Croford was taken into custody and booked into jail for assault with a deadly weapon.
