RIVERSIDE – A 20-year-old Riverside man was arrested after swinging a full liter bottle of liquor at a patrol officer on Wednesday morning.
Patrol officers were patrolling Hidden Park, located near the 10100 block of Hillsborough Lane in the Arlanza neighborhood of Riverside. They were patrolling after citizens complained about juveniles drinking at the park recently. The officer contacted a man, identified as Aaron Cordova in the playground. Cordova had the large bottle of liquor in his possession and would not obey commands.
The subject picked up the bottle and swung it at the officer attempting to hit him while still being combative. Cordova was arrested and later booked into jail for assault with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest using violence, and probation violations.
