LUCERNE VALLEY – A developmentally delayed 13-year-old Lucerne Valley runaway with the mental capacity of an 8 to 10-year-old has been located by authorities.
Details surrounding them finding her or the reunion with family have not been disclosed. On Monday, June 25, 2018, he family shared that Donna Rae McClain had left home on the night of Tuesday, June 19, 2018, she was located on the afternoon of Wednesday, June 20, 2018. They shared that while she was gone, she met an adult man in the City of Rialto, where she lived prior to moving to Lucerne Valley. She returned referring to the man as her boyfriend.
On Monday, June 25, 2018, at around 1:00 p.m. Donna walked away from Lucerne Valley High School. Two witnesses reported to the Sheriff’s Department that they had given the hitchhiking teen a ride into Apple Valley. Her family told authorities that she may have been attempting to get back to the City of Rialto to meet with her “boyfriend”.
Donna’s photo was released to the public and investigators immediately began searching for the at-risk teen. Donna was located by investigators on the morning of Tuesday, June 26, 2018. Details surrounding how or when they located Donna have not been released at this time.
