SAN BERNARDINO – With the Commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War, which is a 13-year presidentially proclaimed Commemoration, the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors paid tribute to some local heroes. With millions who served, 58,000 patriots killed, 304,000 wounded, and over 1,600 still missing after all these years the Vietnam War has taken innocence from some, but much more from others; including life, freedom from prisoners of war, and health for hundreds of thousands.
The tribute by the San Bernardino County Supervisors was for residents of San Bernardino County who served or were killed in the Vietnam war. “It is fitting that we honor and remember all who answered our Nation’s call,” said Board of Supervisors Vice Chair Robert Lovingood. “We are eternally grateful for their honorable service and sacrifice.”
