SAN BERNARDINO – A 29-year-old San Bernardino man was shot multiple times during a freeway shooting on Wednesday, August 8, 2018. The shooting was reported at around 6:27 p.m., CHP officials said. The shooting was reported to be in the eastbound lanes of SR-210 near H Street and involved two sedans.
When the first responding CHP officers arrived they located a white Dodge Challenger on the right shoulder, partially on an embankment. There was a male lying next to the vehicle who had been shot multiple times by a suspect in a white sedan that continued eastbound on SR-210. The victim was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center. The incident is being investigated by the California Highway Patrol.
Traffic was stopped for several minutes during the investigation to preserve evidence. Multiple shell casings were located at the crime scene. “All three lanes were closed temporarily, during the search,” CHP officials reported. “The number one and number two lanes were opened shortly thereafter. The number three lane remained closed through the course of the investigation at the scene and reopened at approximately 12:49 a.m.”
Anyone with additional information regarding this incident is asked to call Officer Brewer at the San Bernardino Area CHP office at (909) 383-4247.
