FOUNTAIN VALLEY – A registered sex offender was arrested last week for attempting to meet a teen for the purpose of sex.
Authorities said that on Friday, August 3, 2018, Fountain Valley Police Detectives conducted an undercover operation. During the operation, Troy Shellenbaum, 32, of Anaheim, who is a sex registrant who is currently on parole for Rape by Force or Fear contacted an undercover officer who he believed was a 15-year-old girl via Facebook Messenger. He initiated a sexual conversation and arranged to meet the officer at a Fountain Valley Park to go to her home for a sexual encounter.
Shellenbaum arrived at the park as planned and made contact with the undercover officer. He was placed under arrest and booked into the Orange County Jail for Parole Violation and Contacting a Minor With Intent to Commit a Felony.
