RANCHO CUCAMONGA – A semi-truck went up in flames after three vehicles collided on the northbound I-15 freeway just south of Baseline Road, officials said. At around 1:00 a.m. the CHP responded to the collision and found the semi-truck, which was carrying tires fully involved in flames.
Due to size of the fire and the close proximity to homes, the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department evacuated three River Oaks homes. Fortunately, the fire was contained prior to the spread to these nearby homes and the residents were allowed back to their homes.
The drivers sustained minor injuries. The northbound 15 freeway was closed for several hours for cleanup and investigation.
