RANCHO CUCAMONGA – A registered sex offender was reported to be attempting to communicate with underage girls at Red Hill Park in Rancho Cucamonga.
On Monday, September 10, 2018, at around 1:10 p.m. two teen females were waiting at Red Hill Park as they waited to be picked up from school. Gilberto Molina Flores, 30, of Rialto, approached the girls and asked is she wanted to smoke “weed” and if he could touch her hand. She told him no and stopped answering his questions. Molina Flores then told another female student passing by that the first victim he approached, “looked good”. Both victims were scared and walked to Alta Loma High School to continue waiting for their parents to pick them up. As they walked back to the school, both victims noticed that Molina Flores was recording them with his cell phone.
The School Resource officer collected information from parents and others who said that they have seen Molina Flores hanging out at Red Hill Park on his black bike with orange trim and a basket in front. The following day at 3:00 p.m. the deputies saw Molina Flores walking to the same spot he spoke to the victims the day before. Authorities learned that Molina Flores was a registered sex offender. The bicycle that was described by witnesses was with Molina Flores when contact was made. He was arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center, where he was cited and released for Annoying/Molesting Victim Under 18.
Deputies are concerned that Molina Flores may have had contact with other juveniles. We are releasing his photo. Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information pertinent to this investigation is urged to contact the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department.
