VICTORVILLE – A 36-year-old Adelanto woman was arrested after threatening and pushing a Silverado High School security guard Monday afternoon.
At around 2:58 p.m. Victorville station deputies were dispatched to the school located at 14048 Cobalt Street in the City of Victorville for a fight between two female students.
Victorville Sheriff’s Station spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez said that the security guard attempted to place a 17-year-old student in custody when her mother, later identified as Ora Barnes arrived. The reporting party, per scanner traffic, described the actions of Barnes as “ballistic”, and expressed that the security guard wanted to press charges. “Other school staff had to help control the mother, to keep her from continuing the assault,” said Rodriguez.
The 17-year-old student was cited for battery on the other student and her mother was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for threats on a school/public officer. Barnes was released on bail on Tuesday at approximately 1:15 a.m. according to jail records. There are no court dates scheduled for Barnes at this time.
Only minor scratches were reported on the student involved in the fight with the cited student.
