RIVERSIDE – Six suspects were arrested during a Thursday Riverside prostitution sting operation, officials said. The “John Sting” operation targeted males who were seeking prostitutes through social media.
The operation was conducted by the Riverside Police Department’s Vice Unit with assistance from the Riverside Police Department’s EAST Neighborhood Policing Center problem-oriented policing team.
The undercover female officers worked in the area of University and Chicago in the City of Riverside, and all of the six suspects were arrested for solicitation for prostitution within an eight hour period, officials said.
The suspects who now may face jail time, up to a $600 fine and/or up to 36 months of probation were cited and released with a promise to appear in court.
