CORONA – Two Corona residents were arrested in connection with recent mail theft and fraud that has occurred in the City of Corona. Ray Verdusco, 35 along with his girlfriend Luciana Cervantes, 25 were together in a Uhaul truck while Verdusco made several fraudulent transactions, officials said. Police believe Verdusco withdrew around $3000 in cash from various ATM’s during his crime spree.
“After our investigating officer put out an interdepartmental email asking for help identifying the suspects, one of our detectives assigned to the Riverside County Gang Task Force and a detective assigned to our Vice/Narcotics Unit (VNI) recognized Verdusco,” Police officials said. During the arrest of Verdusco additional mail and personal banking information was found in his possession.
Cervantes was booked into jail for two undisclosed misdemeanor warrants. One female suspect (the woman wearing sunglasses) remains unidentified. Anyone with information is urged to contact Senior Detective John Healy at 951-736-2330.
