MENTONE – A 15-year-old student posted a photo of a gun on a social media site causing concern for at least one person who reported the photo on Thursday evening. No threats to students, staff, or any other threats were posted with the photo. There was no mention of a school shooting.
Deputies from the Yucaipa Station conducted an investigation and contacted the student and his parents. The handgun was recovered by deputies and was taken for safekeeping according to Sheriff’s officials. Through investigation deputies confirmed that there were no threats made and there is no danger to student or staff at the school
