YUCCA VALLEY – A suspect who was involved in a Yucca Valley pursuit and attempted murder on a deputy remains at large authorities said.
On Wednesday, October 18, 2017, a deputy attempted to stop of Ford Truck near Highways 62 and 247 in Yucca Valley for a code violation. The unknown white male adult suspect did not stop and continued through both paved roads and through the desert.
On Skyline Ranch Road the driver of the vehicle attempted to run over a deputy and a deputy-involved shooting occurred. The driver continued on, but the road became impassible. He exited the truck and fled on foot. An extensive area search using ground, air and the K-9 unit was conducted to no avail. The suspect remains outstanding and unidentified as of Monday, October 23, 2017.
It is unknown if the suspect was injured by the deputy-involved shooting, investigators are conducting an investigation.
