BARSTOW, Ca. – Three suspects involved in multiple vehicle burglaries in the Barstow area have been arrested, authorities said.

On Friday, October 18, 2019, at around 1:24 p.m.. Barstow Police responded to a Carl’s Jr. Restaurant located in the 2800 block of Lenwood Road regarding a vehicle burglary that had just occurred. The called told dispatchers that her window on her vehicle had been smashed out and several items of property were stolen.

The caller reported that someone smashed out the window of her vehicle and stole several items of her property. As the officer responded to the location he learned that a second vehicle burglary occurred at the IHOP Restaurant, located in the 2800 block of Lenwood Road. They told dispatchers that the window of the vehicle had been smashed out and several items of their property were taken. Footage of the burglaries from surveillance  were located from both restaurants showing three black men breaking into both vehicle and fleeing in a white Kia SUV. Officers conducted and area check looking for the suspect vehicle which they were unable to locate.

Shortly after, at around 1:50 p.m. police received a third call regarding two additional vehicle burglaries in the 1600 block of East Main Street. Both victims reported that someone smashed the windows to their vehicles and stole their property. The witness reported seeing the three male adults break into the vehicles and then drive away in the white Kia SUV. One of the victims tracked one of the stolen electronic devices and was able to determined that the suspects were traveling northbound toward Baker. The California Highway Patrol assisted in locating the white Kia in Baker and contacted the occupants. The suspects later identified as Demari Taylor, 22-year-old Stockton, CA. resident, Diontay Espinoza, 22-year-old Sacramento, CA. resident, and Adrian McGee, 28-year-old Vallejo, CA. resident.

The three matched the suspect description given by the witness and viewed on surveillance footage. An in-field was conducted and the suspects were positively identified. The suspect vehicle was searched and several items of stolen property from the reported vehicle burglaries were found.

Taylor, Espinoza, and McGee were arrested and transported them to the Barstow Police Department. He inventoried the recovered stolen property and returned the items to the victims. Taylor, Espinoza, and McGee were booked at the San Bernardino County Jail in Barstow for Penal Code 487(a)- Grand Theft, Penal Code 459- Burglary, and Penal Code 182(a)(1)-Conspiracy. Espinoza and Taylor were released on bail late Saturday morning and McGee was released on bail late Saturday night.
