VICTORVILLE, Ca. – Three Los Angeles residents were arrested in the City of Victorville for vehicle theft and possession of a stolen catalytic converter.
On Tuesday, January 19, 2021, a deputy with the Victorville Station noticed a stolen 2015 Kia traveling on Mojave Drive near Village Drive. The vehicle was occupied by two men and one woman. The deputy conducted a felony traffic stop. The occupants identified as Yaritza Castaneda, 25, Bernebe Escobedo, 30, and Martin Rodriguez, 43, were detained. A stolen catalytic converter was found inside the vehicle, as well as tools commonly used to remove the catalytic converters during a theft. The catalytic converter had markings identifying it as belonging to a truck rental company.
All three were booked into the High Desert Detention Center for possession of a stolen vehicle and receiving stolen property.
