REDLANDS – Three suspects were arrested for the stabbing death of a 30-year-old Redlands man. On Thursday, July 12, 2018, just before 4:00 p.m. Redlands police responded to the report of a stabbing victim who was lying on the ground in the Goodwill store parking lot, located at 223 W. Colton Ave.
Through investigation, authorities learned that the victim, Derek Loren Coltrain was involved in an argument with the suspects in front of a home in the 200 block of W. Colton Ave. Coltrain was stabbed and while bleeding profusely, ran across the street to the Goodwill parking lot where he collapsed.
The Redlands Fire Department paramedics treated Coltrain at the scene and rushed him to Loma Linda University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. At around 5:00 p.m. Redlands Police detained three suspects in the 900 block of Clay Street and recovered the suspect weapon. Daniel Oliver Mares, 37, of Redlands, was arrested for Murder, Michael Anthony Steven Krantz, 28, of Redlands, and Marina Rebecca Delagarza, 36, of Redlands, were arrested for accessory to murder after the fact. All three suspects are being held without bail.
