Tijuana Man Arrested in Barstow For Molesting His 8 and 13-year-old Granddaughters

BARSTOW – A 57-year-old Tijuana, Mexico man, whose family resides in Barstow was arrested for sexually molesting two of his young female grandchildren officials said.

The investigation began on Thursday, April 19, 2018, just before 6:15 p.m. when a Barstow woman called the police to report that her 13-year-old daughter had just told her that her grandfather, Jesus Moreno-Carrillo, had sexually molested her on a recent visit to Tijuana, Mexico. An officer from the Barstow station responded and interviewed the woman and her daughter. When speaking with the two, the girl told the officer that she was sexually molested while visiting him at his home and she also had witnessed him inappropriately touching her 8-year-old sister at their Barstow home.

A detective returned the following morning just before 9:30 a.m. to assume the investigation. During the investigation, the detective collected detailed information regarding the incidents involving her and her sister while they were in Barstow. The mother of the children told the detective that Moreno-Carrillo was coming for a visit with some other family members and would be in Barstow that day. The detective was able to gather evidence supporting the victims account of the events and linking Moreno-Carrillo to the crime. At around 2:45 p.m. the detective and Barstow Police officers made contact with Moreno-Carrillo at a home in the 1000 block of Windy Pass Road in Barstow. He was taken into custody without incident. He was booked into the West Valley Detention Center for Lewd and Lascivious Acts on a Child under 14-years-old and Oral Copulation with Child under 14-years-old. He is being held in lieu of $350,000 bail and is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Monday, April 30, 2018.
