A toddler boy who was kidnapped by his non-custodial father during a supervised visit in the City of Redlands is safely back in the custody of child service officials.
At around 12:35 p.m. dispatchers broadcasted the description of a vehicle involved in a child abduction. Shortly after, at 12:56 p.m. a vehicle matching the description of a faded blue or black Honda sedan was located by Barstow area Highway Patrol officers. The officers conducted a record check on the plates of the vehicle, verifying the vehicle was the suspect vehicle. The officers attempted to stop the vehicle driving north on the 15 freeway near Harvard. The driver did not stop and led officers on an approximately 30-mile pursuit before becoming disable just north of Zzyzx Road on the 15 freeway
The driver failed to comply with the officers demands initially but released the 2-year-old boy to authorities on scene. The toddler was not harmed as a result of the incident.

unharmed. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident. The toddler was taken to the CHP station where he was released to Child Protective Services. The suspect was booked on multiple felony charges related to the incident.
