FONTANA – A 1-year-old boy was struck and killed by a vehicle in the 16500 block of El Revino Drive in the City of Fontana on Tuesday morning.
At around 10:20 a.m. officers arrived at the home to find a neighbor performing CPR on the small child. Officers took over the life-saving measures but were unable to revive the small boy who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Through investigation, officers learned that the boy was hit by a white Ford Expedition was driven by a family member, possibly his grandmother who was visiting the home. The small child followed the family member outside of the home and was hit by the vehicle as it backed out of the driveway.
The incident is being investigated by the Fontana Police Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT). No further information is available at this time.
