UPDATE: (4/30/17 7:30 pm) Fire is now 200 acres and 20% contained.
CAJON PASS – The wildfire fire named the Tower Fire, which began at around 3:55 p.m. on Sunday afternoon has quickly spread to an alarming 200 acres.
The fire began in the area east of Cleghorn and the 15 freeway, an area known as the Cajon Pass. According to National Forest Service officials, the fire is moving to the north.
The U.S. Forest Service, the San Bernardino County Fire Department and CalFire are fighting the somewhat fast moving fire. The fuels are considered light to medium and consist of brush and chaparral. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
There are no freeway closures at this time. No injuries have been reported, please check back for updates as they become available.
