HESPERIA – Two Hesperia-area transients were arrested for the theft of a 2016 GMC U-Haul truck early Tuesday morning. Authorities said that at around 7:55 a.m. a Hesperia Station deputy was patrolling in the Walmart Parking lot in the 13400 block of Main Street in the City of Hesperia.
The deputy, while on the east side of the parking lot, recognized a U-Haul truck, which matched the description of a stolen vehicle report that he took on Monday, January 2, 2017. The deputy ran the Arizona state license plate and confirmed the vehicle, that was occupied by a male and female, was in fact the stolen U-Haul.
After conducting the stop, the subjects; Priscilla Durst, 35, and Robert Serrano, 45, were taken into custody without incident. Both were booked into High Desert Detention Center, Durst for Possession of a stolen vehicle and outstanding warrants and Serrano for an outstanding warrant.
Bail for Durst is set at $50,000 and for Serrano is set at $100,000.
