VICTORVILLE, Calif. – Two drivers died and a passenger suffered major injuries after an early-morning traffic collision on Highway 395 on Saturday.
At around 6:45 a.m. deputies and emergency medical personnel from the Victorville Fire Department responded to the report of a 2-vehicle traffic collision near Highway 395 and Luna Road. When they arrived, deputies determined that a Honda sedan was traveling southbound on US 395 and the silver Mercedes was traveling eastbound on Luna Road.
Authorities said that the driver of the Honda entered the intersection on the red light and broadsided the silver Mercedes. Both of the drivers were determined to be deceased by fire personnel. The passenger in the Mercedes was airlifted to a trauma center for treatment.
US 395 Highway and Luna Road were closed in the area during the investigation and were re-opened at about 3:05 p.m.
