RANCHO MIRAGE – Over $45,000 worth of suspected drug proceeds, 2500 marijuana plants and 25 pounds of processed marijuana was located within two Rancho Mirage homes.
On Tuesday, May 16, 2017, three search warrants were obtained for suspected marijuana cultivations after citizens reported suspicious activity in the area. Through investigation, two were confirmed to be illegal marijuana grows. The two marijuana grows, located in the 70 block of Via Del Pienza and the 100 block of Via Tuscany in Rancho Mirage were illegally bypassing the electric meter in order to conceal the heavy usage and/or avoid paying the high costs necessary for marijuana grows.
Due to the modified wiring which could pose a safety hazard, the homes were both red tagged. This is an active and ongoing investigation and no further information will be released.
