NORTH HOLLYWOOD – A 46-year-old Uber driver was charged with sexually assaulting a passenger today. The suspect, identified as Alaric Spence is accused of raping a 24-year-old woman who he picked up on June 23, 2017. The woman at some point became unconscious due to intoxication and she was taken to a North Hollywood hotel by Spence where he raped her. Authorities said that she remained unconscious throughout the assault and when she woke up she reported the rape to the police.
Spence was arrested a short time after the report was made and is facing three felony counts including kidnapping to commit rape, rape of unconscious person, and rape by using drugs. Spence can face up to 15 years to life in prison if convicted as charged.
