RIVERSIDE – Two college students are displaced after a fire tore through their apartment in the 900 block of Linden Street early Sunday morning. The City of Riverside Fire department firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire on the University of California, Riverside (UCR) Campus just before 5:00 a.m.
When the first engine arrived they found smoke coming from the second floor of the apartment building with flames coming from the patio doors and roof. The 26 responding firefighters were able to knock the fire down within around 15 minutes and contain the fire to the single apartment unit.
The students were relocated by the University administration. There were no injuries reported as a result f the incident. The cause of the fire is being investigated by UCR and the City of Riverside Fire Department.
