BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – John Wooner, 57, of Bakersfield has not been seen since Tuesday, May 14, 2019, and authorities believe that his disappearance is suspicious.
Wooner was last seen at the HillCrest Cemetery in the City of Bakersfield. On Sunday, July 28, 2019, the Dodge Durango belonging to Wooner was located submerged in the Kern River. A body was located inside the vehicle but has yet to be identified. The identity will be released pending positive identification by the Kern County Coroner’s Office. The CHP is handling the investigation related to locating the vehicle and will be coordinating with the ongoing missing person investigation.
