APPLE VALLEY – Apple Valley Station deputies are investigating a non-injury hit-and-run that damaged an unmarked Apple Valley patrol vehicle on Wednesday morning.
At around 10:43 a.m. a detective was parked in a business parking lot near CA-18 and Tao Road while he conducted a follow-up investigation at an area business. While inside the location, an early-90’s gray Ford pickup truck backed into his parked vehicle.
The pickup, according to witnesses, had landscaping equipment in the back and a ladder rack with a ladder on top. The pickup fled the scene northbound on Tao Road. A witness went into the business to alert the detective.
“This is still an ongoing investigation, there was minor damage and no injuries,” said Apple Valley Spokeswoman, Trish Hill. If anyone has any additional information, they should call the Apple Valley station at (760) 240-7400.
