A recent traffic enforcement operation in the Victor Valley proved to be a success with over 968 citations issued during the operation officials said.
The special traffic enforcement operation conducted from November 22, 2017, to February 21, 2018, focused on primary collision factors including speeding, failure to stop at posted stop signs or at red lights, and distracted driving. Through grant-funding the Victorville, Apple Valley, Hesperia, and Victor Valley Sheriff’s Stations were able to place 68 deputies, working 680 hours on this operation.
Unlicensed drivers accounted for 72 citations and 58 vehicles were towed for various violations.
“Due to the success, another similar operation is likely to begin in the spring,” Sheriff’s officials said. “We will continue to raise awareness and enforce those laws that make the streets safer for our communities to drive on.”
