VICTORVILLE, Calif. – A Victor Valley High School student was injured after being struck by a vehicle on Monday morning.
At around 6:40 a.m. 15-year-old girl was walking in the crosswalk at Mojave Drive and 6th Street. A driver, who was driving westbound on Mojave drive was making a right turn from Mojave to 6th Street and struck the girl in the crosswalk. The driver was driving a low rate of speed and did not see the girl in the crosswalk.
Victorville Sheriff’s Station spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez said that the victim was awake and alert when deputies arrived. She was transported to the hospital for a complaint of knee pain. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
