VICTORVILLE – An attempted vehicle burglary suspect who ran from deputies, sustained injuries and was transported by ambulance on Monday night.
At around 10:00 p.m. the suspect, who was described by the reporting party as a black man in his 20’s was witnessed looking into vehicles in the 14900 block of Diamond Road in the City of Victorville. The reporting party said that the suspect attempted to gain entry into her vehicle and when unable to, he left on Diamond Road toward Hook Boulevard.
Victorville Station Sergeant Rosenbaum told a 24/7 Headline News reporter that when they arrived they located the suspect, who immediately fled on foot. The suspect was pursued by both ground and the Sheriff’s helicopter (40-King). During the foot pursuit, in the area behind Flamenco Place the suspect fell into an embankment sustaining a head injury.
The suspect continued running westbound through yards attempting to elude authorities. The suspect ran into a yard in the 13000 block of Galvez Street where he continued to resist arrest. A deputy tased the suspect, who was then taken into custody without further incident. The suspect was taken into the front yard of the home by multiple deputies where he was left lying on the road near the sidewalk for several minutes until an ambulance arrived to transport him to a local hospital. The suspect was responsive at the time of transport. When medically cleared the suspect is expected to be booked into jail for evading a peace officer.
